So this all transpired during Oculus’s VR jam in 2015 in which a lot of developers made virtual reality games among other experiences for the Samsung Gear VR headset. One of them was by Skydome Studio and they developed Audio Arena and it was launched on mobile headsets in November but now its officially out on Oculus Home and Steam for both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
Music And Combos Come Together In Audio Arena
Audio Arena is basically where music spawns enemies and the player is tasked to either dodge or hit the enemies with the weapons given and survive till the music track ends. If your survive over 20 levels then power-ups pop up on your screen and if you collect them during the beat of the music rhythm then you acquire even more points then you usually do. If you do reach a high enough score then it might make it to the steam leaderboard.
Control wise, audio arena does provide options. You can opt for either the standard gaze controls which the Gear VR has and tracks the motion of the head to move the cursor along or if you don’t feel too comfortable with that then you can use the motion controls provided by the HTC Vive.
If you like what you read and do own a Gear VR or an HTC Vive, then perfect timing as there is currently a 20% discount on Audio Arena which brings it down from 4.99 pounds to 3.99 pounds.
