It has the same 12MP sensor capable of shooting 4k video. On the front, there’s a new 5MP camera with HD video.

The software experience on both devices is the same as both run iOS 9. However, iPad Pro 9.7-inch runs the new build of iOS 9, the iOS 9.3 which was also unveiled at the Apple March event. Even though the experience on both devices are same there is a plus point on iPad Pro 9.7-inch side as it features Apple Pencil input for productivity reasons. iPad Air 2 doesn’t have this capability.

The battery on both devices is different.iPad Pro 9.7-inch will be able to get 10 hours of battery life said by Apple. On the other hand, iPad Air 2 is said to be getting around 9 hours of battery timing.
3. Smart Accessories
When it comes to extra accessories iPad Pro 9.7-inch have an extra advantage. iPad Pro 9.7-inch has a bunch of extra accessories. On the other side iPad, Air 2 don’t have any extra accessories to improve our experience.
iPad Pro 9.7-inch supports Apple Pencil and Apple smart keyboard add-on.The smart connector on the device is useful and we might see some extra third party accessories as well in the future.

With all those improvements and extra features,and better hardware, iPad Pro 9.7-inch seems quite better than the iPad Air 2 which was released in 2014.
