Similar to Microsoft’s Games with Gold offerings for Xbox, Sony has the PS Plus program for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. A monthly or yearly subscription fee, depending on what you choose, lets you access multiplayer in games while giving free games for all three platforms, every month. Over the past few months, Sony’s PS Plus games have been increasing in quality and the company continues to deliver AAA games with October 2017 PS Plus games lineup.
To start off the October 2017 PS Plus games collection, Sony is allowing free access to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to all subscribers who have a PS4. Developed by the legendary director Hideo Kojima as the final game of his 3-decade long Metal Gear franchise and marking his departure from publisher Konami, Metal Gear Solid V released in 2015 to stellar reviews and puts players in the shoes of Big Boss.
Since October is the month of Halloween, the second free PS Plus game for October 2017 is Amnesia: Collection, which was released last year on PS4. Amnesia: Collection contains all three games of the series, The Dark Descent, A Machine for Pigs and Justine, and will be available for free to add to their game library for anyone who is subscribed to PS Plus.
Since PS4 supports cross-platform with a lot of PS Vita games, the free October PS Plus games for Vita will also be playable on PS4. These include Hue and Sky Force Anniversary. As for PS3, owners of the previous generation Sony console can get their hands on Monster Jam Battlegrounds and Hustle Kings for free throughout October 2017.
Anyone who adds these games to their PlayStation library will be able to play them whenever they want even after October 2017 as long as their PS Plus subscription is active. For those who missed out on the free games for September, they still have till 3rd October to claim inFamous: Second Son and Child of Light as well as other September 2017 PS Plus Games.
